Dr. Edward Chavez
A Brief History
I have specialized training to administer The Attentional and Interpersonal Style (TAIS) inventory. It is one of the most powerful assessment tools. TAIS measures the critical variables of composure, concentration and confidence so that athletes can better understand, predict and improve their performance during pressure situations. I also administer the S2 and AIQ sports assessments. I am trained in Biofeedback and Neurofeedback to regulate arousal and increase focus and concentration.
I offer individual sessions, team sessions, group workshops, and online sessions via Zoom, FaceTime or Telemedicine.
Currently, I serve as the team Sport Performance Clinician for the Colorado Rockies, and The San Francisco 49ers. I work with Olympic bound and World class athletes through the Olympic Training Center and the World Class Athlete Program (W-CAP).
I have also served as the Sports Psychology Clinician for the Philadelphia Phillies and Oakland Athletics, and Texas Rangers. I have provided team sessions to the Denver Broncos as well as to NCAA Division I Collegiate Football teams, with the primary focus being on Building Leadership, Cohesion and developing a Strong Mindset to perform optimally during high pressure situations. I also have served as a Consultant for the U.S. Army at Ft. Carson Military Base preparing soldiers for deployment. I have developed programs that support soldiers to perform optimally and adapt under adverse conditions by teaching performance based skills to regulate their emotions under high levels of stress. I am a former Adjunct Assistant Professor at The University of Denver, teaching in the Graduate School of Sport and Performance Psychology Program.
